Some slow cooker pork chop recipes call for pan searing the chops before putting them in the slow cooker. I did half of my chops this way and the others I just seasoned and left raw in the slow cooker. I honestly could not tell a difference, so you can save yourself a bit of time! If you use a thinner chop, you will want to check them before cooking time is over. Many times thinner chops finish cooking more quickly and will begin to dry out if allowed to cook too long.
